E-Flyers & Forms

How does E-Flyer Work?

Parents/guardians of students at Croce Elementary supply an email address where they can receive school and PTA news and flyers electronically. Our E-Flyer Administrator (a Croce parent and PTA volunteer) posts the "actual" file to the PTA website under "E-Flyers & Forms." Then an email is sent to all Croce parents/guardians with a link to this webpage. The flyer/form can then be opened, viewed, and printed if necessary.

Why did Croce go "green?"

The short answer...

To save money and
To support our school's charter as a "Green" campus.

The state of California cut our school's operating budget by 70% which is approximately $50,000 less than we received in the 2008/09 school year. A large portion of the school's budget was spent on costs associated with making copies. Our School Site Council, Administration, and PTA members voted last year to conserve our resources by cutting costs wherever possible. An E-Flyer Program is a natural extension of this goal as more of our money can go towards educating our students rather than making copies. However, parents/guardians can still receive paper copies if necessary simply by "opting out" of the E-Flyer Program.

Croce's campus is also "green" in that we recycle whenever possible. Students learn how to sort and recycle their trash at lunchtime, every classroom has a recycling bin for paper, our science department creates compost for the school science garden from food waste, our school collects and recycles juice pouches, the PTA hosts a community Family Flea Market with E-Waste collection, and staff and parents are always looking for more ways to preserve our environment for Croce students!
